About Me

After earning a Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Houston, Clear Lake in 2005 Pamela learned that she and her husband would be expecting their second son in 2006. She knew she wanted to be a stay at home mom and found a niche market in the baby clothing industry. In June of 2007she launched Happy Panda a Made in the USA clothing label geared toward big and tall babies sold online.

During this time she connected with many bloggers and learned the ins and outs of product reviews. She began writing for several blogs; business and personal. She organized the first of many "cyber baby showers" sponsored by businesses that had family friendly products. She also helped with the organization of submissions and distributions of prizes for the 5 Minutes for Mom blog parties and helped maintain their blog directories as needed. In 2008 she went into labor while "tweeting" but quickly left for the hospital to give birth to a healthy baby girl.

Soon after CPSIA had announced new testing regulations for all products sold to children under the age of 12. In June of 2010 Pamela made the decision to close her online business due to the high cost of regulatory requirements. Pamela continues to blog here on A Renaissance Woman and has kept her close online social ties. She continues to consult on online events, social media and lend her skills where needed. Pamela lives in the great state of Texas with her husband, four children and two dogs. As of September 2011 she has servicing small businesses with their Social Media needs.
