It's Here! - Day 74

How I got to be the first delivery of the day is beyond me but I'm very grateful! Last time when I made a purchase from Rooms To Go I was the last on the list and they came after 10pm. I was not happy but today is a good day. My hubby and I have made our 2nd practical furniture purchase with kids. We had a formal dining room set that we bought over 10 years ago. The set didn't fit this small space and our family destroyed it! This table set is more practical for our family. I'm so excited! I had to call my gram to come over and have a cup of coffee with me sitting at our new table. Woo Hoo!

And then came the RED FLAG - There is a warning label on top of the marble slab. Marble soaks up spills. Clean spills immediately. Do not put hot or cold items on Marble. Is this a joke? I think this deserves a phone call.

Change Your Mind - Day 75

I changed my mind! This is really what I was looking for and I'm so happy to have found it. I was looking through the Rooms To Go website and ran across this marble top table set. I would much rather have this one. After a few phone calls the manager took care of my exchange. I'm glad it wasn't too much trouble because I think this is a better fit for our family! I hope I'm right. The cost is cheaper too and that's always a plus. Now we just have to work out the deliver date. I can be patient. I've waited this long and a few days or another week isn't going to hurt. Now I'm off to get all those prizes shipped off from the bloggy giveaways carnival!

Brand New Start - Day 76

We went shopping today! I'm super excited because our formal dining room set we have had for the last 10 years or so is on it's last leg. I think this set is going to be better. I hope I'm right. I don't want any type of chairs with fabric or detailed wood work. I want the table to have as smooth of a surface as possible. Why don't they come to moms to design things? Seriously! We are the ones who have to clean this stuff. My kids have spilled so much stuff on our table and chairs and the sticky oatmeal that gets in every crack and crevice. It's a pain to clean. Who has time for all that? I want flat surfaces no fabric! Just let me wipe and go! I'll keep you post on how this works out.

Rooms To Go Part 2 - Day 214

Oh the excitement filled the air today! The couch is coming. Our delivery window was from 3-7pm. We waited and waited and then after 7:oo pm I called to find out where the couch was and customer service is closed. Nice! Then I decided I would call the saleslady that sold us the couch. She assures me that it will be delivered any minute! We wait some more and by 8:40pm I call her again to find out what happens if they don't come. She tells me delivery is not an exact science. I had to laugh at the woman! Seriously! We live in the technology age and everyone including my mother has a cell phone. I'm sure our phone number is some where on the delivery papers. I have children to put to bed and you want me to wait up for a couch. It's 9:15pm and my dh and our eldest son get home from cub scouts. I explain the ordeal and our Super Star is still up running around. No sense in putting him to bed when all the commotion is just going to wake him up! 9:30pm we hear a big truck pull up and sure enough it's our delivery. One of the delivery guy's phone is ringing while he's bringing in our furniture. My dh and I just look at each other. Finally it's all set up and it takes up our entire living room. We can seat my whole side of the family on this couch! The boys are having a field day jumping and running all over it. They were so excited. It was like we put a playground in our living room just for them. There you have it, today I am thankful for our new couch. I think we are going to have some serious fun with it!

Rooms To Go - Day 222

Whoo Hoo! We actually made it to Rooms To Go and we bought ourselves the coolest sectional couch set! We are getting one of those big square ottomans to match. It's going to arrive the day before my birthday. Oh Happy Birthday to me! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet. The boys jumped all over this couch. I almost felt sorry for the sales lady. They have some really cool kids furniture sets too. Once we figure out how we are going to change all the rooms we can deal with more furniture. We've waited more than a year to make any furniture purchases and we decided that we just needed to bite the bullet. There isn't any furniture in our living room. It became a huge play area with toys. The adults are taking it back. LOL - Now we have a place where we can all sit and hang out together.
