#Mamavation Monday & Memorial Day Murph

Mamavation
Good morning and Happy Memorial Day! I had great plans this morning. I was going to start out at 8am with #Crossfit and then head over to a Taebo Master Class. When I woke up this morning I was second guessing my plan. Then my kids started jumping on me, kicking me and fighting and then the whine came soon after. It was time to get going! When I showed up and read this on the board
“Murph”
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run
I wanted to get inside my car and drive away! Then my trainer said, "Come on Pam! It's Memorial Day we have to do Murph!" Now, I didn't know who Murph was but I knew that he had to be someone special. I knew he had to be someone who served and if I wanted to truly honor those who served then I could get through this work out. I broke it up into 4 rounds, 25 pull ups with assisted black band, 50 push ups on my knees and 75 squats. By round 3 I thought I was going to hurl all over the place because I was so over heated and going up and down doing those squats made me dizzy! It didn't matter, what mattered was finishing and I did in 1 hour and 53 seconds. So here's to you Murph! Happy Memorial Day and thanks to those who have served to keep us free. Oh, and I didn't make it Taebo. I'm done for the day.

Eating out:
Chili's 5/15
Outback Steakhouse  5/27

Stress Level - After the body scan something in my head snapped. It was like a free for all and I started eating like crap again. Need to work on all this otherwise I'm spinning my wheels for nothing. AGAIN.

The UP side- FITCATION IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aloha Friday #266 - The Last Time You....

This past week I started to think about the last time my husband and I actually had a 24 hour period alone without the kids. I remember it well because my cousin passed away unexpectedly and I got the call while we were at the hotel. That was 8 years ago. This got me to thinking.....
When was the last time you and your husband had a 24 hour period alone without kids?

End of Pre-K Party!

 Jump a little....
Slide a little....
Jump a little....
Slide a little....

Play in the pond a little? Oh no wait that is our community baby pool! Why does the water look lime green? Ewwww!!! You should see the adult pool. It's crystal clear with a brand new slide. What about the little people?

My Silly's little fingers were bleeding from rubbing on the bottom of the pool or maybe it was the side of the pool. Either way OUCH! They had a great time any way. On the way home our street was blocked off. I had to pull the car into the school and walk the children home. There was a motorcycle accident. It turned out to be our neighbor across the street. Luckily he is now safe at home but broke his big toe and his collar bone. What a way to end the day! Thank you all for the prayers. I know they helped. Until next year...

Wordless Wednesday - Crazy Sock Day!

Today is crazy sock day at preschool. My little guy here went crazy with the pom poms. He was so proud of himself. Silly loves her rainbow socks. Her toes are still a little small but it looks like she is making due.

Summer Time Blues?

What is wrong with me? Summer time is quickly approaching and I'm not excited at all. In fact I've got the blues. I'm not looking forward to what is coming my way. I know that if I put it out there that it is likely to happen but then again I'm also a recognizer of pattern recognition. There are three kids coming my way and I'm not looking forward to the refereeing. I do that a lot already but now we can multiply it. Today the 2 year old wasn't cooperating at all. She didn't want to get dressed, she didn't want to go any where or do anything. She was tired and cranky. It's physically and emotionally draining.

I feel like I'm just now in a place where I put myself back on my own to do list! I have to work around 4 different people's schedules to get it done. Yes, working out has become vital to my sanity. When I miss a work out or have a "rest day" I eat poorly and I get really anxious and stressed because there is no relief. It's about 1.5 hours out of my 24 hour day and that 1 hour is spent driving. I just created a new schedule for myself and I am already have to change it. I realize that I have to compromise but it doesn't make it any easier. I have to refocus on what I can do instead of what I can't do, right? Am I alone here? Any other SAHM's got the summer time blues?

#Mamavation Monday - Redefining My Beauty

Mamavation

The 6 week challenge is over and the results are in check this out!
During the Crossfit Unity 1 year celebration the winners of the Slim Down Challenge were announced. I brought it home for the ladies. I was thinking that maybe I was one of those that had a lot to lose but really, why diminish my victory? I worked hard so here is my hard work plaque! SCORE. My husband has been trying a few of these work outs with me. That's pretty cool. Here is what I have learned so far about this journey. I have to redefine my beauty! I'm no longer what my husband would call "club girl skinny." I don't see me ever getting back to that place. It doesn't matter because she wasn't strong or healthy. I have a lot more work to do but I have to figure out a different way to measure my progress. If it wasn't for the body scan I would still be cursing my scale. I gained weight but I lost fat that I know for sure. Can I measure by how my clothes fit? Not really. My clothes fit looser in odd places and tight in others. I realize that my body is in transition. I'm not sure what I'm going to look like by the time I'm done. Rather, I don't think I will ever be done but I'm sure there will come a time where I'm finally comfortable and confident in my own skin. Until that happens my idea of me being beautiful or looking good is not something I will be able to see quickly. Do I see change? of course I do but I still have those trouble spots and since you can't spot reduce without surgery it's going to take time. When I do see the me I want to see, trust me.....I will let the world know! lol - Until then I remain on my journey of health and fitness and trying to keep reaching for my personal best.

Eating out:
Chili's 5/15

My Work Outs -

Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - Crossfit
Thursday - Crossfit, Taebo

#Mamavation Monday - The Body Scan Part 2

Mamavation

Back to the body scan! The 6 week challenge is over and my results are in. I gained weight but lost body fat! Sweet I will take it. My loss was all in the trunk area. My jeans fit tighter than ever! Could be water weight or it could be that I have a super butt from all those squats. I don't know. For 6 weeks I tried my best to stick with lean meats, veggies, fruits and low carbs. Did I fall off the wagon? You bet! Did I get back on? Of course I did. Something is working. It's all a slow process for me but things are moving around. The scan said so!

Eating out:
Chili's 5/15

My Work Outs -
Monday - Yoga, Crossfit
Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - Crossfit
Thursday - Crossfit
Friday -Circuit Training
Saturday -Crossfit, Rock Climbing
Sunday - Rest

Scale Reading -174 that is 2 pounds down from last week.

Stress Level - Moderate. I'm counting blasted calories. Wish this didn't have to be so hard. I hate having to juggle so much.

The UP side - I'm going to start training for the next race. I'm trying for a 10K. Whoot!

A bit of inspiration for you ladies!

So Tell Me a Little Bit About Yourself....

Photobucket
Tonight a group of us went out to do some rock climbing. I had never been before and what an experience it was to have gotten to the top! Heights don't bother me so much, the problem I had was trusting the person who was my anchor to not let me drop. I'm not a very good anchor either. I was the anchor for my husband and it scared me because I was moving while he was moving. It really freaked me out! It was a great time though.

One of our trainers that we work out with came with us and joined us for dinner afterward. He asked us to not talk about our children for a bit and wanted to know more about us. He wanted to know what inspired us about other people. We went around the table and the words were Humor, Determination, Loyalty, more Determination, Positive, Critical Thinking, Courage and Character. It was no surprise to me that this is exactly why I enjoy hanging out with this group of friends. We all are very supportive of each other! It's great to know what we value.

#Mamavation Monday - Compliment Train

Mamavation

Went to the family BBQ this past weekend. This guy there told me he didn't recognize me! I looked like I had lost 100 pounds. Holy banana! Are you serious dude? How much have you had to drink? Seriously, I don't have 100 pounds to lose. Thanks for the compliment though. My hubs says my behind is looking mighty round. lol - Great! Now go get your quarter and see if it bounces! rofl....  So there it is...my scale is going up but so are the compliments! Go figure. I have a new personal record for my 5Ks. To think that I have shaved off 11 minutes since January. Can you believe that? That rocks my socks. Our Spring Slim down challenge is almost over. It's back to the body scan next week. I'll let you know what happens. The left top side of my hip has been giving me problems so I had to take several rest days in order to run the race. I spent a lot of time on ice, with pain relieving rubs, epsom salt baths, the chiropractor and my massage therapist. I really hate nagging pain! I broke out the measuring tape too! There was very little change from December. I lost the numbers but I'll post it when I find them again. lol

Eating out:
None so far.

My Work Outs -
Monday - Yoga, Crossfit
Tuesday -Crossfit, Adjustment, Massage
Wednesday - Rest
Thursday - Rest
Friday - Rest
Saturday - 5K
Sunday - Crossfit

Scale Reading -176 that is 3 pounds up from last week. Boo!!!! That stinks.

Stress Level - High considering the hip issue. I'm doing so much better this week!!!

The UP side - I'm about to put some biking into my work out, not a spin class but spending some time outside on my bike on a trail. I'm excited.

A bit of inspiration for you ladies!
