Family Game Night!

Tonight we broke out the dominoes! My Grandmother and Mother are champion domino counters. The three of us ladies taught my oldest son how to play. What memories! When I was young I was taught by both of them and my Grandfather. We would play for hours. My four year old insisted that we play some Uno afterwards. We did and everyone kept giving him the "Skip" card. He was NOT happy! All in all a great family game night.

#Mamavation Monday - What Next?

Mamavation

I've increased my #Crossfit work outs to three times a week now or at least that is the goal. Apparently I was very use to my routine of 3 days of boot camp and Crossfit and Taebo on days in between. My body had it down. Now that everything has changed I feel like I've never worked out before. The Crossfit work outs have become increasingly harder. The one day of circuit training led by the new instructor Theo leaves me feeling like I'm starting all over. It just goes to show that even if change is hard, it's good! Running is now a part of my schedule and it wasn't before. That part of it has become really tough. I'm still on the Spring Slim Down Challenge and I have to be honest I seem to be all over the place. Some days my eating is down to a science and others it just falls apart. When I can become consistent I think that is when I will really see the results I have been waiting for. Until that happens I could spend years tracking my weight and working out and nothing will happen. I did pass on pizza, birthday cake and cheesecake samples. I was super proud of myself. I just kept thinking, if I eat this it could take me an hour in the gym to work it off. It just wasn't worth it. I have to keep that train of thought on a daily basis.

Eating out:
4/9 Lupe Tortillas
4/16 Pizza
4/21 Wing Stop

My Work Outs -
Monday - Yoga, Crossfit
Tuesday - 4.5 mile walk, Taebo
Wednesday - Crossfit
Thursday - Sick kid
Friday - Sick kid
Saturday - Sand Volleyball game
Sunday - 4 mile run

Scale Reading -174 that is 2 pounds down from last week. I can't believe I made it to 171 this month and lost it! That drives me crazy.

Stress Level - Better than last week but dealing with a sick child is never fun. Just found out today my husband will be traveling for the rest of the week. I'm flying solo yet again.

The UP side -Gearing up for May's 5K.

A bit of inspiration for you ladies!
Remember - YOU are a role model.

Get Your Game On!

What a blast we had today! It's amazing how much more fun sports are as an adult than when I was a kid. Honestly, I'm more of an athlete now at nearly 40 than every before in my life. That to me is hilarious! Now, we go and do more active things and have so much fun laughing at ourselves. I really believe it's good for the soul. We played a game of sand volley ball today and used a Coop water volley ball. Those type of balls have a lot less sting to them but the wind also has no problem carrying it away. So I say to you....go get your game on! Make it fun and even if you aren't a professional who cares, get out there and try something different. It helps if you have friends who are just as willing to challenge themselves as you are!

HERRICANE SILLY - Chemist or Chef?

My husband was cleaning off his desk which inspired me to do the same. The children were all hanging out watching a movie. Then I heard it, the sound of our bedroom door shutting. I knew it couldn't be good and it had to be that girl up to no good, again! Sure enough, I opened the door and this is what I found. Our bedroom floor covered in sugar.

This evening someone left the pepper out on the counter. As I was in the laundry room this is what she did with the pepper. When I came in the kitchen she was hiding under the kitchen table. Good lord this girl moves fast! And there goes all our pepper, literally down the drain. Do they make a chemistry set for preschoolers? They should!

#Mamavation Monday - Three Steps Back

Mamavation
Horrible week for stress and eating. People you can NOT out run or work out your diet. I worked really hard this week but it all went South. There were family events that I became deeply involved in and my responses were not good at all. As much as I would like to blame others I made the choices of what went into my mouth. I'm super disappointed but at the same time I'm aware of what happened and I saw what happened on the scale. Done! Lesson learned, I'm over it and I'm moving on. What's with the pizza? Great story! Saturday I was going for my long run. I totally rocked the first 4 miles and I went to turn around and run back but I stood there too long piddling with my iPod. The lower half of my body revolted and I had to walk back. I was gone a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time! My husband called me very annoyed and wondering where I was and what to do about dinner for the kids. My response being annoyed myself was to just order a pizza! *sigh* It happens.

Eating out:
4/9 Lupe Tortillas
4/16 Pizza

My Work Outs -
Monday - Yoga, Crossfit
Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - Rest
Thursday - 5 mile run, Crossfit
Friday - Circuit Training with Theo
Saturday -Hot Yoga, 4 mile run, 4 mile walk
Sunday - Rest

Scale Reading -176 that is 4 pounds up from last week. What happened? Several bad eating days.

Stress Level - Over the top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The UP side -We are getting together a hot game of sand volley ball this Saturday!

A bit of inspiration for you ladies!

#Mamavation Monday - Two Steps Forward....

Mamavation
This week was the first week of my new workout routine. It was tough! The hard parts are the rest days for me. I don't know what to do with myself. I can't just sit around and do nothing. I had to at least go for a walk. Sounds crazy doesn't it? I find such stress relief from exercise and I stay relaxed and generally happy. The eating part of it was great until yesterday. My Mother brought over dinner and it was yummy but way off my eating plan. Oh well it was one day, I'm over it. lol - Moving on to the next week....

Eating out:
4/9 Lupe Tortillas

My Work Outs -
Monday - Yoga, Crossfit
Tuesday - Crossfit,TaeBo
Wednesday -1 mile walk
Thursday - Crossfit, Taebo
Friday - 2 mile walk
Saturday - 5K Shell Strides for Schools
Sunday - 6.5 mile run

Scale Reading -172 that is 1 pound up from last week. What happened? Not a good eating day yesterday. That is all.....

Stress Level -Trying to let go of things that I have no control over. Trying not to worry because whatever is supposed to happen will regardless of whether I worry or not.

The UP side - I'm back to Hot Yoga this coming Saturday. I need some rest and some sleep. No events as of yet so I'm trying to take it easy.

A bit of inspiration for you ladies!
Remember - YOU are a role model.
