What's Up Chuck? #Crossfit Gear

For the last 6 months or so I've held on to this $50 gift card to JCPenny. The plan was to save it and put it with my blow money and buy some new clothes or dresses for church. That was the plan.

Some of the moves I do in Crossfit cause the bottom of my feet to burn like crazy! Often I will kick off my shoes (running, basketball or cross trainers) so that I can continue my work out without the pain. My feet are flat which means I don't have an arch. My shoes have had inserts and specially made inserts. I wanted to try some flatter shoes. Today I decided it was time to make use of that gift card I had been hanging on to. My hope is that this will solve my problem.

 

Look! Squeals of joy over here. I'm nearly 40 and it's taken me this long to buy my very first pair of Converse. Seems a little silly to be so giggy over a pair of these shoes. It's not like they make me look super hot or anything. They do make me feel good though. I really hope this plan works! My daughter thinks they're cool. I might just have to buy her a matching pair! :)

Sports Authority - The Alternative to The Boot!

Today we discussed the idea of the boot. Just when I was about to cry "Uncle" and go get one my Dr. said "too late!" While hobbling around my home I've been walking with my right foot at an angle. This is all very bad because I'm messing up the ligaments on the other side of my leg. Therefore, putting a boot on at this point will only cause me to continue walking like that furthering my healing time. Instead she said go to Sports Authority and get some good NON running shoes! Off I went and here you can see this really cool gadget they have.

All I do is stand on it and it leaves an imprint telling them my foot needs.

As you can see I have a very flat imprint which means I don't have an arch. This has always been an issue for me. The young lady hooked me up with some supports for every day needs as well as my athletic needs.

Now I have a pair of ASICS cross training shoes and a really nice pair of Nike basketball shoes. I love the ankle support I get from them. I felt so much better just putting them on. My feet have grown so much since having children. That is so weird! Am I the only one? lol - I picked up that little four pronged hand held massager at Bed Bath & Beyond. All these products are making me feel a lot better.


Now, I'm going to be a long time customer of Sports Authority because their sales people actually know something about shoes! I normally go to Academy but their people just stock shelves they don't know much else about shoes.

Marketing Genius @StrideRite

We went to Stride Rite the other day because our son was complaining about his foot hurting and our baby girl kept taking her shoes off. Clearly these are signs that we needed to go get their feet measured. We couldn't resist these Lighted Captain Rex shoes. They aren't available on the Stride Rite site yet. Our baby girl keeps stealing his shoes and she won't give them back. She just takes off running in his shoes and we have to catch her and remove them while she howls and protests. Geez! There just a pair of shoes guys! Come on.

They love the lights!

There are going to be a lot of fights over these shoes. Our son LOVES them, so much that he snagged my camera and took his own photos of his beloved shoes.

I guess he figured out that he had the shoes backwards so he took another.

But this wasn't enough..

He put them on the stairs! ROFL

Here are her very own pair of SRT Avery sandals. She LOVES them. She wants to wear them every where she goes. I like them because of the back heel support. Most sandals are open in the back and don't provide support. Thanks @StrideRite for sending these over!

Mama Got A New Pair of Shoes

My shins have been killing me! Lately all my exercise classes now involve running of some kind. I knew it was time to get another pair of running shoes. I have flat feet so I need a really good pair that help my arches. Locally we have a great shoe store named On The Run and they really know how to help you find the right shoe. They give you this card when you purchase shoes there and on the back they write down the model of the shoe and when you purchased it. I didn't realize that these shoes were purchased on February 8, 2009. HELLO!!!  note to self - that's too long! I've really put the miles on those shoes.

And now for only $140.00 my feet are in heaven again, Ahhhh!

Stride Rite - Feets Are Growing Fast!

We are going through shoes quickly in our home. Our baby girl has grown another foot size within 2 months and at 13 months old she is wearing a 6.5. As much as everyone loved her Chuck's I have to retire them because they are a size 6. Now she will be sporting these Natural Motion System Pandoras. We shop at Stride Rite at the recommendation of our children's podiatrist. Our son had a bit of rotation in his feet when he walked. Since we started shopping at Stride Rite his problem has improved 100%.

We will shop there until they run out of his size.  He too grew an entire shoe size and at the age of three he is wearing an 11.5. We need coupons because these shoes are pretty costly but well worth the money for the improvements we have seen. If we have to go every two months for new shoes you can imagine how expensive it can get for two children. Our little guy picked out these Sorren Hook and Loop shoes and he loves the lights! I just signed up for the Stride Rite newsletter so I can receive coupons. We are going to need them.
