Rub-N-Color

My toddler just got this Rub-N-Color as a Christmas present. It is really cool. It came with a popsicle stick to color with. I can't tell you how the paper works but what a great idea. This would be a great item to conquer boredom on those long car rides. His big brother played with it too. Just had to blog about it in case you are looking for a last minute Christmas gift.

Gilmore Fan Spray Nozzle

This is the latest toy in our backyard! It's a Metal Fan Spray Nozzle by Gilmore. Lowe's distributes this particular model for $9.98! My boys love it and I may have to pick up another one for the additional hose we have in the backyard. They fight over it because it really is that cool! They can spray each other without getting hurt. The shut off valve lowers the pressure intensity that sprays. This is perfect for those little people that love to play with the water hose in the backyard in the summer time. It sprays just like a large rain cloud. Next time you are at Lowe's check this product out where the water hoses are located!

Playskool Easy Dunk - We Won!

We are the happy winners of the 5 Minutes for Mom Toys for 2 weeks contest! We won the Playskool Easy Dunk toy and it just arrived today. Just to give you an idea of how cool this toy is we took some photos. This hoop can hang on any door knob or handle. Check it out!




































OK - That fun ended quickly! He started eating the ball and there are orange pieces being thrown in the trash right now. However, in Playskool's defense it is for ages 3+ and we are no where near that. It's still a cool toy!

Together Tunes

There will be lots of reviews coming your way since our home is now loaded with lots of new toys. Our Super Star received this interactive sing-along story time block. He loves it! We love it because it's soft and it's an all in one toy and we don't have lots of pieces all over the house (that's a plus!). Each of the sides have an interactive nursery rhyme or song. The Wheels On The Bus side plays the song and it has little wheels you can spin around. There is a pop goes the weasel and that cracked him up! He laughed so hard and that's a plus when a toy makes your little tyke giggle up a storm. There is a wiggly spider for the Weensy Spider, a bear with a mirror in his tummy that plays If You're Happy and You Know it and much more. The toy was available at Sam's Club for $40.00 but after Christmas it was $14.00. Either way this is a super thumbs up in our book.

See N Say

Another cool toy that is on the must have list is the good old tried and true See N Say by Fisher Price. This one is titled The Farmer Says and it plays the songs The Farmer in the Dell and Old MacDonald. Ours came with the 3 AAA batteries but then again if you have kids most likely you already have a stash of batteries if not rechargeable ones. Todays See N Say has a plastic knob that you pull down. If I remember correctly it use to be a finger string that you pulled. Boy was that a long time ago. Also it was much wider but todays See N Say is more condensed. As you can see the circle is smaller but this time there is a plastic piece that you can flip back and forth like a page. This gives your little one that many more features. The Farmer Says toy is now added to the list of toys my little guys are fighting over these days.

Bounce and Spin Zebra

The Bounce and Spin Zebra by Fisher Price is a great toy but is it a safe toy? I didn't think so at first. Our Super Star got this as a gift for his first birthday. It took him about another month or two before he got the hang of it. When he would hold the seat it would spin around. As with all toys parental supervision is required but with this one you really need to sit down right beside them until they are tall enough to get on and off the zebra without any problems. For a while he just stood there and played with the spinning frog and bear. Now at almost 15 months he has mastered this toy. He loves to get on it and bounce. Lucky for me there are three volume settings: high, low and off! You need three AAA batteries. Assembling the the toy was pretty basic and it's easy to keep clean. Should you buy it for a one year old? I would say no, wait till about 15-16 months so that they can get some real use out of the toy. This would have made a better Christmas gift than birthday gift.

Vtech - Sing & Discover Story Piano

The sing and discovery story piano by Vtech was a birthday gift for our one year old. He loves this toy! Not only does he love it but his big brother secretly loves it as well. They play tug of war over the microphone. It can really take a beating too because it has been dropped, dragged and slobbered all over. I like the fact that there is a volume setting and appreciate the all in one busy center. This toy gets a lot of play time here at our house.

Bark Bark Vac Mitts

Our son only walks when he wants to and spends most of his time crawling on the floor. Recently he had his first birthday and I thought it would be good for friends and family to purchase walking toys to help him out. He received three different types of walking toys that help little ones to walk. The first one he received is made by Little Tikes. It's a puppy vacuum and he loves it because it barks and the ears move up and down when he rolls it back and forth. There is a see through filter where plastic pieces fly around

and it has an adjustable handle. He chases our vacuum when I'm doing the deed so it's nice that he can have his own. As much as I would like to say that it has helped him get up and walk more I can't. The truth is he just sits and rolls it back and forth and sometimes he drags it with one hand while he crawls around the house. When he's good and ready I'm sure he will stand up and walk with it but for now, not so much.

Fisher Price - Giggle Fun

Bounce & Giggle - Cow is so much fun. My son got it as a birthday gift. You touch the cows nose and it bounces and giggles. He cracks up every time it turns on. There are a variety of bounce and giggle animals by Fisher Price. No matter which animal you choose you can't go wrong with this toy. There is one slight downside. For a while you will have to push the nose because it isn't that sensitive to the touch. A baby would have to push hard but they will really enjoy it once they become a toddler. It is one of those toys you will keep around for a long time.
