Tackle It Tuesday - Stuff We All Got! #Mamavation #Fitcation11

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Two days after I get home and I'm finally able to go through these bags of sponsored items from the Mamavation Fitcation. I'm overwhelmed by the generosity of these companies. Today the idea was to tackle these bags and sort everything out. I couldn't get one shot! There is too much stuff.
My family was blown away! I can't wait to dive into all the cool gadgets that will help me keep up with my workouts.
There was a blue bag of yummy Flat out bread crisps but my two year old and my husband ate the whole bag. I'm going to have tons of products to test out and tell you about.

Tackle It Tuesday - The Pile That Wouldn't Die!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I have these various piles around the house. At some point on any given day when all is quiet I will go gathering and put it all in one place. It ends up looking something like this mess below.
This is not all mine but apparently I have the job of managing everyone's "stuff" that they bring home. It's a daunting task. My husband helped out a bit and most of it went away but there is still a small pile. It's moved to the counter because we had to eat dinner on this table. That's the other problem, interruptions. I get right into the middle of it and something or someone needs tending to. Ugh! Some day....I will get rid of the clutter bugs.

Tackle It Tuesday - Little Bit of This, Little Bit of That

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
The first thing to tackle on my list was getting a photo of my "Silly" in her outfit for her school party. She was not having it! She wanted to take the picture not be in the picture.

And then I pulled out the big guns on her! I said, "Poor Daddy, he won't get to see you in your party clothes." Then I walked away and quickly she ran up behind me and shouted....
TA DA!!!!!!!!

Next I tackled the fire wood that was stacked up in my van. Now it's right by the door for easy access. I love a nice roaring fire IN the fire place on a cold night. It makes me feel all warm and cozy. Then I met up with my good friend Karen and we hit a few stores. It's been about 10 years since I have worn a pair of boots. Then I saw these and with a little, "Gee Pam you should get those because you have been talking about getting a pair of boots for a year now!" I tackled these awesome pair of boots! Whoot.
Now I finally have a pair of closed toe shoes that are NOT a pair of tennis shoes.
Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Tackle It Tuesday - Giving Time

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

The bathroom closet took me about 4 days because I had to start and stop and start and stop but everything is organized once again. I just finished it this morning and I'm pretty proud of it. Now to keep it this way. I use lots of little storage boxes and storage drawers to help me keep everything in it's place. It was a great time to throw out all sorts of expired medications.
Now for the fun stuff to tackle! Our church is involved with all sorts of giving projects for the holidays. These are my favorite things to do. We are going to fill two stockings one for a boy and one for a girl. We are also going to work on filling a Seafarers Box. If you would like to find out more about the filling stockings or seafarers box program please click here.

Tackle It Tuesday - Habits

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
Today I'm going to try and tackle something a little different. Normally it would be something pertaining to my home but this time it's what's in my home, the kids. My hubs and I have this unspoken war (war may be too strong of a word but it's just to provide the idea) going on after he gets home from work. We both want our me time! The kids want us. Usually I lose because they come to me first and even though I try to say - "go ask your Dad!" or something like that then I feel guilty. Better yet, they want me to do whatever it is any way. This leaves me feeling emotionally spent since I'm with most of them all day. I'm constantly on the entertainment committee.

I have devised a new plan. I've asked my hubs if we could save computer time till AFTER the kids go to bed at night. My hubs gets home some where between 5-6 and that leaves maybe 2.5 hours to go to the bathroom, eat dinner, clean up, shower and then get the kids to bed. That is NOT a lot of time to spend with these kids. It's my hope that this will bring us closer together as a family. I think the kids will fight less and be happier and of course so will I. Wish me luck! What are you tackling today?

Tackle It Tuesday - The Kids

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

That's right! This week I'm tackling my own kids. They have a long history of ear infections, allergy issues, respiratory issues and food allergies. Frankly they are more sick than they are well. It's exhausting, it's costly and draining of my mommy resources. I'm spent and they need me and they whine to me and they get jealous of each other. It's really a nightmare. Let me take you back a bit and see if you can follow along....
11/30 - Take the 3yo and the 1yo to the pediatrician. Diagnosis - 3yo ear infection both ears (antibiotics & cough meds). 1yo - fine just allergy issues. Cost $90
12/7 - Take the 3yo and the 1 yo back to the pediatrician, neither seem better to me. Diagnosis - 3yo no ear infection, still coughing, change the cough medicine. 1 yo ear infection right ear. (antibiotics & decongestant). Cost $90
12/8 - Take the 3yo and the 1yo to their 2nd allergy specialist. Diagnosis - 3yo well on his way to pneumonia! (antibiotics, steroids, decongestant, breathing treatments, nose spray) The 1yo still an ear infection. (antibiotics, steroid and nose spray). Cost $167

That's 2 bags full of medicine with samples and $340 dollars out of pocket expenses. OUCH!

And this is the return of the fish face!
I'm taking my oldest son to see the same Dr. tomorrow. We have to get these issues under control so we can all have our lives back. Now what did you tackle today?

Tackle It Tuesday - The Garage

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I should have taken before shots but I always seem to forget that part. This week I had to tackle the garage.

This is the top shelf in our laundry room. This shelf is normally stocked with all sorts of cleaning products. This is the finished photo.

In order to make room for the cleaning products stored in the laundry room, I had to clear a path in the garage first. Our garage looks like a cemetery for computer parts.

I did it! I entered the man's cave and took a shelf! It looks like a store shelf doesn't it? We shop at Sam's so we buy in bulk but I needed somewhere to store all these products. That's a huge tackle for today, trust me. What are you tackling today?

Tackle It Tuesday - The Kids Room

Tackle It Tuesday Meme
This week I'm tackling the boys room.

Total mess on the bed.

Total mess on the floor.

More mess...mmmm my favorite.

@KarenANelson said switch the clothing and toy storage. At first I thought she was crazy! But low and behold she's not crazy, it totally works for these guys.

Toys are gone!

They are stored in these drawers.

The mess is all gone!
I'm one happy mama.

Tackle It Tuesday - Shelves

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Whoo Hoo! I did it, I got the shelves up in the boys room. You knew I didn't do it alone right? Of course I had help from Karen A. Nelson. She has been helping me with organization ideas for my boys room.

We used this wall. The problem? My older son has stuff he doesn't want his younger brother touching and breaking while he is away at school. Solution?

These super cool shelves from Lowes. Karen hung the one on the left and I hung the other two with the help of my son. I did it! Anchors and all, go me. I love these shelves and now he can put what ever he wants on them because right now his little brother can't reach. I'm sure when my hubs gets back he's going to double to check to see if I hung them properly. lol
Next I wanted to get the hats hung up.

Solution for many hats? Two hat peg racks.

Go me! I'm super excited. If you get a chance go check out Karen's new blog. That is what I have been helping her with. We've been bartering! lol

Tackle It Tuesday - The Office

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

It's time to tackle this office of mine. I need to have some horizontal space without the clutter! Geez it's not good. Here we go with my before photos.

Who can work like this? You can see how quickly this can become a nightmare.

Right next to my desk I have more lovely clutter!
It's time to get to work.
Ready?....

Amazing! That my friends is a clear horizontal surface. You can't imagine how quickly it gets right back to the before photo.

Yes, I think I have about 15 pairs of scissors. Maybe I should have put them in the yard sale. As always I'm sincerely grateful to my good friend @KarenANelson. She keeps me motivated to stay organized.
